The prompt over at 52 Photos this week is Something Really Small. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with this one until a couple days ago when I was snacking on some sunflower seeds.
A seed, so small and seemingly insignificant. But there is so much life teeming inside of a seed. It’s true potential is discovered when it gets planted in the ground.
“Verily, verily I say unto you, unless a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John12:24
When the seed gets planted, it’s in obscurity; no one sees it. But it is the dark of the ground that the seed sheds what it was and becomes what it was meant to be. That time beneath the surface, when it is unseen, allows the seed to become the something more that’s been lying dormant in it the whole time.
Maybe you’re in the middle of a dark time in your life right now. Maybe you feel overlooked and unseen. If that’s you remember the seed and may it’s tiny presence remind you that the darkness can serve to bring out the best in you. So hold on and don’t give up just yet. Spring is coming!
